I asked ChatGPT to write me a 600-word blog post on how people can use ChatGPT to build their websites. It took about a minute to produce the entire article. The article itself is not poorly written and it provides good content with supporting details. It was slightly off-topic in that it didn’t tell me how ChatGPT would build my website, but how I could use it to help build out different pieces of my website. The 600 words are broken up into 8 paragraphs, with an introduction paragraph and a concluding paragraph, which makes the 6 paragraphs in the middle all detail paragraphs. Some of the paragraphs, as a human reader, seem to be repetitive (most specifically paragraphs 2 and 5). The article is also missing headings, but I also didn’t ask for an article with headings, so the headings I have added in to help you, as a reader, move through the content and hit the highlights.

Many SEO experts are worried that Google will start penalizing websites for using AI content. There are now AI detection tools like Content at Scale AI Detector or Crossplag’s AI Content Detector. The full article itself received a human content score of 58% saying that it was unclear if the article constituted as AI content. 2 sentences were flagged for being highly likely to be generated by AI. The suggestion was to delete these sentences and rewrite them in your own words. 3 sentences were flagged as being possibly AI generated and it was suggested to reword the sentences so that they sounded less robotic. 5 sentences were flagged for being unclear if they were AI generated and it was suggested to replace a word or two. Are there any sentences that stand out to you as definitely being AI-generated? Or does it sound like a plausible human wrote the article? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Only time will tell how we actually incorporate AI-generated content into our everyday lives. Is this technology that will stick around? Or is it novel technology that is only here for a short time?
